Individual Sessions

Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes, once a week, and will take place in the client's home. A 30 minute option is also available. The music therapist creates a treatment plan tailored to the needs of the individual. Each session may look different, but will generally include playing instruments, singing, songwriting, and processing emotions verbally and musically.

Group Sessions

Contact us for a request to set up a music therapy group at your facility or at your home with peers.

Music therapy groups create space to work on social and communication skills, and provide a great opportunity to find support and build friendships.

We accept private pay clients. In addition, Susannah is set up as a vendor with the Harbor Regional Center and Westside Regional Center. Contact your service coordinator for more information.

"Music therapy has shown me and my son that he is capable of vocalizing multiple words in a row. It has acted like the back door into his speech where he can retrieve thoughts and messages easier.

Susannah has mastered a calming and fun presence. She is a natural at connecting to my sons energy and providing a fun outlet through music."

-Mother of a 5 year old with Autism and Dysarthria

"My daughter always looks forward to music therapy and lights up every time she sees Ms. Susannah. It has been great to see her overcome her emotional challenges through music and songwriting.

Her anxiety levels have decreased and she has gained more confidence. She is also more motivated to learn difficult things like math through music therapy."

-Mother of a 12 year old with Williams Syndrome

"Music therapy has really helped my child to identify their emotions, process anxious thoughts through song writing and story telling, and enjoy movement and music."

-Mother of a 6 year old with Sensory Processing Disorder

Music is Therapeutic!

Many areas of the brain respond to music. Neuroplasticity means that neural connections, which enable different human functions (speaking, walking, attention, etc.), can be repaired or rebuilt. Music can aid the process of neuroplasticity because of its wide range of influence within the brain.
